A legend of mountaineering turns 80

In 1978, Peter Habeler and Reinhold Messner were to first to successfully climb Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen. This record made the Austrian mountaineer famous around the world.

On the occasion of his 80th birthday, he looks back at an eventful past, at companions and climbing partners, the sunny side of life and the key moments.

But first and foremost, he looks to the future and talks about how he continues to cheat old age and which mountains he still plans on moving.
