The Bright Colors of the Soul

How We Can Learn to Live on Our Own Terms

In about 50 years of working as a psychotherapist, Uwe Böschemeyer has mainly dealt with people who have become estranged from themselves and who experience no joy in their life, people who are not at all sick but simply no longer know the strength that hides within them. He considers it his task to make these people understand who they really are and how they can learn to live life on their own terms. In his new book, he has condensed all of his experiences and methodical approaches—Böschemeyer’s so-called »Third Path« has long since established itself as an independent system—to create an entertaining as well as profound opus magnum that provides answers to the pressing questions of our time and lets us sense the meaning of life.

Uwe Böschemeyer has witnessed the life stories of many people by listening to them intently and has accompanied them therapeutically. His milestone birthday looming at the horizon is a good time for an extensive review. »Next year, I’m going to be 80 years old. For well over 50 of them I have worked with people whose lives haven’t been or aren’t easy. Last year, I got the idea of summarizing my experiences in a book, not in a dry way, but as vivid and colorful as life itself. I would like to illustrate those times in my life that have influenced my professional path and have particularly shaped it. But most of all, it’s important to me to provide answers to some of the pressing questions of our time. I have described them in a third path—next to psychotherapy and life and social counseling—as an independent system and a logotherapeutic preventive concept.«
