Boulevard of Heroes

30 Modern Legends

Modern heroic sagas

About genius and madness, daredevil guys and brave women, Nobel Prize winners and heroic life lies—great storytelling meets stories that captivate.

Michael Köhlmeier tells stories about the icons and legends of our time with his usual lightness of touch. Why the great jazz pianist Thelonious Monk went to prison for his best friend. How the chess duel between the giants Bob Dylan and Bobby Fischer came about. About Marilyn Monroe and Muhammad Ali, Ignaz Semmelweis and the first lady of jazz Ella Fitzgerald. True to the facts—but with literary freedom.

»Of genius and madness, of life’s lies and great moments: These are stories that cast a spell over you.«
