Learning Doesn't Have To Suck!

Life Lessons Children Can Learn Through Skateboarding

Titus Dittmann, skateboard pioneer and one of Germany’s most unusual entrepreneurs, is an advocate for giving our children more freedom in everyday life. In a style that is as provocative as it is warmhearted, he relates his experiences from working with adolescents and shows how important self-determined learning at a young age is for personal development.

All-day schools, tutoring, and support programs – nowadays our children’s daily routine is jam-packed all too often. There is no space for youthful frolicking, for a child’s curiosity, for aimless drifting – at all! Creativity, enthusiasm, and independence fall by the wayside. In his book, Titus Dittmann writes about why our children need more freedom in life, more courage to just try things out without always having to achieve success and deliver great performances. Based on his own story, all the ups and downs he has experienced, the entrepreneur and pedagogue shows why learning doesn’t always have to be something negative, what makes our children strong and happy – and what life lessons skateboarding can teach them.

»Our children are the most important thing we have. When they are happy and strong, the world can only become a better place. In his book, Titus Dittmann shows how they become strong personalities – with great enthusiasm and his very own irrepressible energy.« Wotan Wilke Möhring
